1. OUR EDUCATIONAL MISSION :- Today Information Technology become pervasive, while its parent computing science , has become hard to find Instead of becoming specialist providers for the IT industry or mass producers of vocationally trained personal, our Department has chosen to take the road less travelled. We continue to emphasise the pristine science that lies under the diverse aspects of computing. This is the single most important feature of the education offered here.
2. BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT :- Nayagarh college,      Nayagarh was established on 09th July, 1961. The Department of computer science was established in Nayagarh (Auto) College, Nayagarh in the year 2008 , with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of computer science with rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation the department has always produced quality professional, holding important positions in Information Technology industry in India and abroad. The 3 years Bsc. (Computer Science Hons) was introduced as self finance mode in the year 2008 with affliction to Utkal University. 
3. GOAL

• To produce proficient and competent Computer Science graduates with a solid foundation in Computer Science and ITM for successful professionals careers inn industry, academy and public service. 
• The graduates of the programme will contribute to society in a professionals, responsible and ethical manner. 
• Our graduate will pursue lifelong learning through such activities as higher studies, research and development distance education, professionals training and membership in professional societies to be able to adapt to challenges of changing environment.
